Westminser, a city in Orange County, California has a population of about 90,000. Rev. Lemuel Webber founded it in 1870 as a Presbyterian temperance colony. It was named after the Westminster Assembly of 1643, which laid out the basic principles of the Presbyterian faith.
The city was named Tri-city at first because it was the amalgamation of three cities: Westminster, Barber City, and Midway City. Westminster is bordered by Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley on the south, Garden Grove on the north and east, and Seal Beach on the west.
Westminster is a great city to live with its low crime and lower cost of living compared to its neighboring cities. The area of Little Saigon is a Vietnamese community where a large number of refugees came to the city in the 1970s. Westminster won the All American City Award in 1996.
